MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, June 2, 2015 Intergraph® SECURITY, GOVERNMENT and INFRASTRUCTURE (SG&I) presented Virgin Media and Pure Force and Rescue Corp. with Icon Awards for their use of innovation to better serve their customers and communities. Announced at HxGN LIVE, Hexagon’s annual conference, the Icon Awards are Intergraph SG&I’s highest customer award.
This year’s winners, Virgin Media, the U.K.’s leading ultrafast broadband provider, and Pure Force and Rescue Corp., a private initiative supporting public safety in the Philippines, have implemented Intergraph’s technologies in visionary ways.
“We are honored to recognize Virgin Media and Pure Force and Rescue Corp. for using Intergraph solutions to drive innovation in their industries and make a difference in the communities they serve,” said Steven Cost, Intergraph SG&I president. “These organizations embody what the International Icon Awards are truly about, and we at Intergraph are proud to call them our partners.”
Pure Force and Rescue Corporation
Pure Force and Rescue Corp. is a private initiative created to connect emergency response agencies across the Philippines. Home to nearly 100 million people, the Philippines does not have a centralized emergency response system or a nationwide emergency telephone number, which makes coordination between public safety and emergency response agencies difficult. Pure Force and Rescue Corp. is donating mission-critical software to every city in the Philippines to help overcome this challenge. Manila, the nation’s capital, will be one of the first cities to deploy the solution.
Through Intergraph’s industry-leading Computer-Aided Dispatch (I/CAD) system and Mobile Responder application, law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services can minimize response times, as well as track and manage incidents and emergencies in real time. Through its use of I/CAD, the Pure Force and Rescue Corp. command center has a common operating picture that can facilitate information sharing between agencies in different municipalities around the country. Mobile Responder will extend incident management capabilities to first responders, giving them access to real-time data and true situational awareness. Philippine citizens can also call for help and connect to emergency services through a smartphone app.
Pure Force’s innovative use of dispatching and mobile technologies will help make the Philippines a model for other countries around the world.
